This method is probably the most common way of making chips. This is probably because the method of frying is perhaps the fastest way of making your chips. What you need to do first is you need to cut and slice the vegetables you want to be made into chips very thin. For starchy vegetables, soak them in water to remove the starch. Drain them and try to remove excess water completely. Then, season them according to your preference. After that, put them into the hot oil. Make sure that the oil is hot and up to temperature so that the chips get extra crispy. The downside of frying, however, is that it requires a lot of oil and can be considered not good for your health.
The second method of making chips is by baking it in the oven. After you thinly slice the vegetables, you want to put them on a baking tray and drizzle some oil of your choice as well as season them up to your preference. Remember to preheat the oven up to the desired temperature before putting the soon-to-be chips in. Bake it in the oven for a certain amount of time and then flip the vegetables halfway. Your chips will come out less greasy than when you fry them and quite crispy, although not as crispy like when you fry them.
Dehydrating vegetables to make chips is probably the best way of making chips. This is because it doesn’t require any oil and the result is crispy, delicious, and good for your health.
